SF Polar Bear
Polar Bear @ Camp Gorton
Jan. 12 - 13, 2024
Hosted by Silver Fawn District
Troops and Crews from all Districts in Five Rivers Council are welcome to our Centennial Polar Bear!
Camp Friday night or join for the day on Saturday. We will be having activities on Friday evening such as Cornhole, a Scout and Staff run campfire, Jeopardy Game, and more activities in the Dining Hall.
The Order of the Arrow Lodge is offering pizza and chili for purchase on Friday evening as well as two breakfast and lunch options for lunch. Units can purchase these on a per Scout basis during the unit registration. Pre-registration is essential as they will not be purchasing more than pre-registrations.
Patrols will have their skills challenged at the challenge stations on Saturday morning. These will be in the base of camp and on the trail between the primary tunnel and Shooting Sports Ranges. We will have .22 Rifle Shooting and Archery as part of the challenges. Saturday afternoon we will have troop competitions in gaga ball, broom ball (make sure to bring your brooms), a dessert open fire competition, and more.
The event will conclude after the Closing Flags on Saturday late afternoon at 5:00 pm. Units will earn Polar Bucks to use at the auction on Saturday late afternoon.
Register all Scouts and Leaders by end of day January 5, 2024, with full payment for $20 per Scout or Adult Leader for the weekend. Saturday Day Fee is $18 per Scout or Leader.
Fee pays for tent camping, facility fee, auction items, patches for participants, and activity fees.
Starting on January 6, 2024, the registration fee for a Scout or Adult Leader is $30 per person. Saturday Day Late Fee is $28 per Scout or Leader.
If your Unit is camping Friday night, site assignments will be made by event staff. Your unit can also tent camp on Saturday evening after the Polar Bear event program has concluded for FREE! We will ask your unit’s intention as part of your unit registration.
