Basics of Pistol Shooting

The Great Falls Council Shooting Sports Committee will be doing Basics of Pistol Shooting on May 16th, 2026, at Painted Post Field and Stream in the club house. 

ALL PARTICIPANTS MUST HAVE A NYS PISTOL PERMIT, OR NYS PISTOL PERMIT APPLICATION IN PROCESS

This is NOT a NYS Pistol Permit approved course

PARTICIPANTS PROVIDE

• Food and drink for themselves for the day
• Eye and Hearing Protection
• Firearm: 22lr is recommended
• Ammunition: 200 rounds

The NRA Basic Pistol Shooting Course will cost $55 for a registered Scouter and $150 for a non-registered adult.

Register by April 26th, 2026

This course is required BEFORE Individuals can become certified as an NRA Pistol Instructor!

If you are interested in becoming an NRA Pistol Instructor there is a second course registration for May 16th and 17th
