BALOO

BALOO - BASIC ADULT LEADER OUTDOOR ORIENTATION
Scouthaven
The BALOO training consists of an online pre-requisite component in addition to an overnight hands on practical. This one-and-a-half day course is designed as an introduction to the Cub Scout outdoor program for leaders interested in adding a camping component to their Pack activities. BSA’s Cub Scout level camping policies will be taught along with the discovery of the necessary tools to help units carry out a successful camping experience.
Completion of this course is mandatory for a MINIMUM OF ONE adult on a Pack-coordinated overnighter. If your Pack does not do Pack-coordinated overnighters, then the requirement does not apply. If you attend District- or Council-coordinated overnight events, the requirement does not apply. The BALOO requirement only applies to Packs who plan and execute their own overnight programs.
Any pack with less than 2 people trained in BALOO, can get this training for free to get the Pack up to 2 trained leaders. When you register select pay by mail. Email Staff Advisor Karl Ziegenfus to have the Council cover your fee.
