INSTRUCTOR DEVELOPMENT FOR

WILDERNESS FIRST AID & CPR/AED

This course is to learn to become a certified instructor in Wilderness First Aid and CPR/AED (Adult/Child) through ECSI - Emergency Care and Safety Institute. If your Council uses another organization (American Red Cross, American Heart, NOLS, SOLO, etc) there is no guarantee that that organization will accept this certification, most have a crossover class, but check details prior to taking this.

Before taking this course you must be currently certified in both Wilderness First Aid & Adult/Child CPR/AED. 

• Your certification in this does not expire as long you teach 1 course every 2 years.
• Certification as an Instructor does not certify you in the course.
• You will not be able to teach until you have been added as an instructor in your Council
  • If your Council does not currently use ECSI, this course will show you how to set up the contract

Schedule:

• March 1st - Zoom Class 7-9pm
• March 8th - Zoom Class 7-9pm
• March 15th - Zoom Class 7-9pm
• March 29th - Zoom Class 7-9pm
• April 21st - 22nd (6pm - 6pm) Practical Class at Camp Gorton

All classes must be attended in full. You will be demonstrating skills and practice teaching on April 21st and then teaching under supervision on April 22nd.

During this class we will also talk about setting up and maintaining a Training program in your home Council and sharing best practices if your Council already has a developed program.

This course is currently available only to registered members of the Boy Scouts of America.
