EAGLE SCOUT RECOGNITION and NETWORKING EVENT

Nationally, only 4% of scouts will earn the Eagle Scout rank and in Five Rivers Council, we are proud to have a history of meeting or exceeding that percentage annually.

In total, the 2019, 2020 and 2012 classes of Eagle Scouts have logged over a thousand volunteer service hours in the development and execution of their individual community service projects.  Beyond that, each scout earned a minimum of 21 merit badges (13 required and 8 elective), as well as served in unit leadership positions.

In recognition of their attaining Eagle Scout, the Five Rivers Council will host a virtual recognition ceremony on Friday, January 14, 2022 at 6 pm and a drive-through gift distribution event on the following Saturday, January 15 from 11 am - 1 pm on the Corning Community College campus. This event recognizes our new Eagle Scouts as well as their supportive families,volunteers, and unit leaders.  This event symbolizes the very best outcome of the scouting program, young members of the community heading into adulthood with solid character.

This year’s honored guest and speaker will be Major (ret.) John Yorio, (Eagle Scout, Corning, NY, 1992) decorated marine helicopter pilot serving several unit deployments in support of both Operation Enduring Freedom and Operation Iraqi Freedom, as well as a tour at the Presidential Helicopter Squadron, HMX-1.

Event Admissions

Event admission is now free to Eagle Scouts, families, leaders, and volunteers but donations may still be made. Please register using the button in the upper right corner of this site so that we can send you the login details/link.
