Cubs, Leaders and Parents,

This year’s Winteree will be done a little different as with most things these days. We will be doing the event from our homes instead of getting together in a large group. We think this will be fun and educational at the same time.

Here is what I have come up with for the Cub Scouts and their families to do.

PLAN, PREPARE AND ENJOY a meal together then report on the outcomes.
Plan your meal using the Food Pyramid. Include protein, grains, dairy, fruits, and vegetables.

The Winteree will be February 13 - 20, 2021 (Any day during this week)

Cost is $3.00 per Scout.

This will cover the cost of the Patch and raffle prizes that will be drawn the day of the event on a Zoom conference open to all.

Cubmasters will be sent a Zoom Invitation and they can forward it to their Pack.

Also, for even more Fun, each participant will have a chance to take part in a music video with all participants of the Winteree.

• Each scout will need to make an instrument from anything they have in the kitchen, toy box, wherever they wish, an example would be a cooking pot and a wooden spoon drum, a tambourine, Kazoo, use your imagination.
• Then go online to this You-Tube site https://youtu.be/CkQQbRqLoCl for the words and tune for “I’ve been working on the railroad” The Scouts will be playing the instrument and singing to this song for the video.
• When done videos need to be sent to this e-mail address – Cubscoutwinteree@gmail.com then we will put all the videos together as a collage for everyone to see. The video will take a few weeks to put together and post on the councils Watercooler Facebook page. This should be a great way to show that the Five Rivers Council is still Scouting even in these times.

After you have completed your task of the meal the Cub Scout needs to fill out the questionnaire in the confiramtion email and turn it into their Cubmaster.

Be sure to join us for the event by Zoom as more things will be added to the schedule of the day.
