Firearms Basic Training Class
This course is required BEFORE
Individuals can become certified as an
NRA Instructor for ANY firearm discipline!
This is an opportunity to become NRA Basic Firearms Trained in one day. This course will be offered as part of the 2020 University of Scouting program, but will take place OFF CAMPUS at the Painted Post Field & Stream Club on Beartown Road & will include the required shooting components to complete the training program.
If you are interested in joining other like-minded individuals that enjoy the sport of shooting, then this course will set you off on the right foot. Once you’ve completed this course and then the instructor course for your chosen discipline of rifle or shotgun, you’ll become an active member of the Five Rivers Council Shooting Sports Committee and participate in the various events organized, setup and managed by the committee. The course includes some of the following topics:
Long Gun Knowledge Safe Handling Ammunition Knowledge
Firing the 1st Shot Shooting Positions Evaluate a Shooting Program
This course will include “live-firing” exercises. In order to complete the certification, applicants must participate in ALL REQUIRED trainings, complete an exam and submit an application with the appropriate fees to the National Rifle Association.
WHERE: Saturday, February 29th, 2020 at 320 Beartown Road, Painted Post
TIME: Starts PROMPTLY at 8:00 am and goes until 5:00 pm
COST: $75.00
