Cub Leader Specific Training - In Person

Cub Scout Leader Position-Specific In-Person Training
Target Audience: Cubmaster & Assistant CMs, Den Leader & Asst Den Leaders, and Committee Chair & Committee Members
Date & Time: Saturday, March 14th, 2026; 8:00 AM - 1:00 PM
Location: Garman Scouting Center (Buffalo Office - 2860 Genesee Street, Cheektowaga, NY)
This training is open to all new and existing Cub Pack Leaders - Cubmaster/Assistant CM, Den Leader/Asst Den Leader, Committee Member/Chair - who want to learn how to effectively perform their duties and provide the best program for the youth in their Pack.
The Great Falls Council Training Committee has recommended that all leaders registering for a new leadership position complete this training within 90 days of accepting their roles. Those leaders who have not changed positions but are still untrained are also encouraged to complete their position-specific training to comply with this new policy.
A trained leader is shown to be more effective in their position, sharing the vision of Scouting America with the youth in our care. This training allows you to learn from experienced volunteers and to interact with others in your same position, going through the same issues you might be experiencing or might potentially experience in your leadership position. Bring your questions! We will do our best to provide answers and/or suggest resources to solve your problem(s)!
NOTE: Each direct contact leader (Cubmaster, Asst. Cubmaster and all Den Leaders) MUST be current with their Hazardous Weather Training, (Course SCO_800). Being current means that you have taken this online course within the last two years. If your training certificate lapses, you will need to re-take this course online. This is a pre-requisite for this course, to enable you to be fully trained!
You should plan to bring a certificate of training, available through your My.Scouting.org account, after you ensure it is still current, if previously taken. If you have not taken this before, after completing the course a certiticate will be availalble to you.
This training is also available online at my.scouting.org
A one-half hour lunch period will be made available to attendees. Please plan to bring your lunch, or if there is enough interest, we will order from a local eatery. Lunch is not included! Coffee/tea will be provided!
EVERY SCOUT DESERVES A TRAINED LEADER!
After registration, you will receive a confirmation email. If you don't, please check your spam folder. Look for an email from no-reply@247scouting.org.
