NOVA Up and Away
Together with the M.O.S.T., Baden-Powell Council presents:
Up & Away
A module from the STEM/Nova Program of Boy Scouts of America
Wolf, Bear or Webelos Scouts,
Join us for a virtual meeting with the Museum of Science & Technology, focusing on physics and terminal velocity.
Cost is $25 per scout and includes a STEM Nova patch or pii pin, an hour of program developed around this module.
The zoom link will be emailed to you the week of the event.
Registration deadline is Tues. July 28th, 2020.
There are two pre-requisites for this module.
1: Watch an episode or episodes (about an hour total) of a show that discuss fluid dynamics. A good one for example is: “The STEM of Indoor Skydiving” https://youtu.be/V5jJ5FaX1ZU
Then do the following:
A. Make a list of at least two questions or ideas from what you watched.
B. Discuss two of the questions or ideas with your counselor.
2: Complete option A, B, or C. This may have been done this past year in your pack already.
A. Do all of the following: (a) Design, (b) Construct. (c) Race Vessel in Raingutter Regatta.
B. Do all of the following: (a) Design, (b) Construct. (c) Race Vehicle in Pinewood Derby.
C. Do all of the following: (a) Design, (b) Construct. (c) Race Spaceship in Space Derby.
Please send any pictures and work done prior to our module to your STEM/Nova Counselor, Stacy Hall stacy.hall@scouting.org
