Everyone loves trains, and our district’s Cubs are no exception!

This Fall, the Taughannock District will be holding a special event on the Dryden Rail Trail. This
will be a fun activity for existing Cubs, and a great opportunity for Packs to recruit
new members, as your Cubs can invite their friends and get incentives for
doing so.
Along the trail, your Cubs will take part in interesting and fun activities at various
stations - we’re currently planning about 8-16 stations for Cubs, depending on how
far they hike. The stations will include games, skills and fitness competitions, demonstrations
and encounters with a historical figure.

Cubs will have the option of a one-mile hike (recommended for Lions and Tigers),
a two-mile hike (recommended for Wolves/Bears) or three-mile hike
(recommended for Webelos/Arrow of Light). Check-in and registration will be at
the end of the trail, at Dryden Lake Park. The last eight stations will be at Dryden
Lake Park, so if there are Cubs or leaders who do not want to do any of the hikes,
they can still take part. Webelos Leaders, this is a great opportunity for your Webelos
to get in their three-mile hike for the Webelos Walkabout Adventure.

Packs who are planning to attend the event should submit a Cub Registration Form to AllAboard@TCScouts.org so that we'll know you're coming. Each Pack should plan to provide at least one adult leader to help with one of the stations. Please indicate which station(s) you'd be interested in on the Registration Form.

After Registration, each Registrant will be contacted by email to ensure each participant has their starting station and departure time finalized.
