To prepare participants to give critical care for potentially life-threatening emergencies in a delayed-help situation, the BSA/Red Cross Wilderness and Remote First Aid course covers the following:
- Primary and Secondary Assessments
- Wounds and Infections
- Head (Brain), Neck and Spinal Injuries
- Hypothermia & Frostbite
- Bone, Joint and Soft Tissue Injuries
- Heat-Related Emergencies
- Allergies and Anaphylaxis
- Altitude-Related Illnesses

- Evacuations, Gear Improvising and more….
