Be prepared when help is hours away. Wilderness First Aid (WFA) training equips participants with the skills and confidence to respond to medical emergencies in remote or backcountry settings where professional medical care may be delayed.
This two-day, in-person course focuses on realistic scenarios, hands-on practice, and decision-making skills needed to assess injuries, stabilize patients, and manage emergencies until help arrives. The course meets Scouting America and national outdoor program standards and is ideal for those leading or participating in outdoor adventures.
Who Should Take This Training?
- Scoutmasters, Assistant Scoutmasters, and unit leaders participating in high-adventure or remote outings
- Adult leaders and youth (as age-appropriate) attending backcountry treks, backpacking trips, or long-term camps
- Camp staff, NYLT staff, and high-adventure advisors
- Anyone responsible for health and safety during outdoor or wilderness activities
