Philmont 2025

Philmont Scout Ranch, the Boy Scouts of America’s premier High Adventure™ base, challenges Scouts with more than 214 square miles of rugged northern New Mexico wilderness. The Twin Rivers Council is sending two crews (12 people per crew) for a 9-day backpacking trip, which is an unforgettable adventure across miles of rugged, rocky trails. During the trek, scouts will experience programs featuring the best of the old west-horseback riding, burro packing, gold panning, chuckwagon dinners, and interpretive history-with exciting challenges such as rock climbing, mountain biking, and sport shooting.

Please contact Rob Pattison at vpprogram@trcscouting.org with any questions or to schedule a visit to your troop's meeting to discuss this unique program with your scouts/leaders. Rob Pattison was the crew advisor for an 9-person 7-day trek in 2017 which was a "strenuous" trek (i.e. one of the most challenging) which included an ascent to the summit of the tallest mountain at Philmont (i.e. Baldy).
