62nd Annual Mohawk Klondike Derby: Deep Freeze

The Northeast's Premier Winter Survival Challenge!

Get ready, Scouts! The time has come to test your mettle, master essential outdoor skills, and compete in the ultimate winter adventure: the 62nd Annual Mohawk Klondike Derby: Deep Freeze!

Join us on January 24th and 25th, 2026, for an unforgettable weekend focused on teamwork, skill mastery, and pure winter survival. This is more than just an event; it's the ultimate training ground for any challenge the wilderness throws your way.

What Your Patrol/Crew Will Master:

This year's competition puts your patrol/crew to the test with events designed to forge expert winter adventurers:

Orienteering

Fire Building

Survival Shelter Building

Wilderness First Aid

Ice Rescue

Old-Fashioned Sledge Race

Patrols and Crews that prepare for and conquer the Klondike Derby will be supremely prepared for any winter event.

Start Preparing NOW!

To achieve mastery, you must practice! We strongly encourage your Patrol/Crew to:

Download and study the materials that describe the individual events and preparedness tips.

Practice these skills outside! Mastery only comes through hands-on experience.

Check out the new guide! We've released an Unofficial Event Coordinators Guide to the Klondike Derby with expert tips to help both new patrols start strong and expert patrols polish their skills.

Dates: January 24 – 25, 2026
