Ice Fishing Day at Camp Wakpominee (Warren County 4H members only)

Warren County 4-H members and families are invited to join us for a fun-filled day of ice fishing at beautiful Camp Wakpominee!
This outdoor winter adventure is a great opportunity for youth to enjoy hands-on learning, conservation education, and time on the ice with friends and family.
Location: Camp Wakpominee, 185 Sly Pond Rd, Fort Ann, Ann, NY 12827
Registration is required
Registration Fees
- $10 per youth
- $5 per adult
Your registration includes:
- A full day of ice fishing
- Bait and a commemorative event patch
- Breakfast sandwich, Hot dog, chili, and coffee/ hot chocolate for all paid participants
Event Highlights
Learn about fishing and conservation from the New York State Department of Environmental Conservation (DEC)
Friendly competition with ribbons awarded for the largest fish in three categories
A relaxed, family-friendly atmosphere perfect for beginners and experienced anglers alike
What to Bring
Please dress for winter conditions:
- Warm winter jacket
- Waterproof Muck boots (there will be ice and water), (the slush and ice was 8 inches deep last year)
- Gloves
- A thermos or insulated beverage container is recommended
Youth must be accompanied by an adult (21+)
Meals Provided
Each paid participant will enjoy:
Breakfast
- Breakfast Sandwich (courtesy of Fort Ann Truck Stop)
- Choice of cheese, ham, bacon, or sausage
- Served with hot coffee and/or hot chocolate
Lunch
- 1 hot dog
- 1 cup of chili
- Beverage
If you have dietary restrictions or prefer alternative options, you are welcome to bring your own food.
Community Service
Food will be prepared by Scouts from the Wakpominee Order of the Arrow Chapter.
A donation jar will be available for those who wish to support their local community service efforts.
