Scouting for Clean Waterways

Volunteers Needed: Help Us Restore the Clark Reservoir!
What Councils Can Do! | Scouting America
The Clark Reservoir is currently drained for a major $38 million restoration project to dredge the lake, build walking paths, and create a brand-new boathouse and boat launch. While the water is out, we have a unique, one-time opportunity to clean up the exposed lake bottom before it refills!
Join us to clear out years of accumulated bottles, cans, lawn furniture, bicycles, and other debris to help bring this beautiful park back to life.
Meeting Location: Peter J. Esposito Park, 659 Madison Hill Road, Clark, NJ 07066
Date: Saturday June 20th, 2026
Time: 9:00AM -12:00PM
The work is simple but makes a massive impact! Tasks include:
- Using litter grabbers to pick up debris from the exposed lake bottom.
- Raking scattered trash into piles.
- Using shovels to collect and bag the debris for removal.
How to Dress & Items to bring:
- Clothing: Sturdy, closed-toe shoes or boots (expect some mud/uneven ground), long pants, and work gloves.
- Gear: Refillable water bottle, sunscreen, and insect repellent.
- Tools: If you have your own labeled rakes, shovels, or litter grabbers, feel free to bring them along!
