Patriots Path Council Adventure Programs Merit Badge Offerings

Please see below for a current list of all Merit Badges offered through PPC Adventure Programs.  These merit badges will typically be offered at the Council Service Center (1 Saddle Road, Cedar Knolls) or one of our camps (Mount Allamuchy Scout Reservation or Winnebago Scout Reservation).  Occasionally the merit badge will be at an off-site location.  Most of these merit badges will be completed on multiple dates as indicated in the individual registrations.  Attendance by the scouts is required at those dates to complete the merit badge unless otherwise arranged with the MB counselor. 

PPC Adventure Programs Presents: 

CHESS MERIT BADGE & OPEN SESSION

Saturday, September 20, 2025 - 10:30 AM to 2:30 PM

Cost: $15.00 per youth.

Lunch is included (pizza and soft drink). 

Registration is limited to 40 scouts.

The PPC Chess Club will be running the workshop.  Scouts must know how to play chess to participate.  

Tom Andrea will be the merit badge counselor for the merit badge. Scouts will not be able to complete all the requirements in session.

This program will be held at the Patriots' Path Council Service Center, 1 Saddle Road, Cedar Knolls, NJ.

CITIZENSHIP IN THE WORLD MERIT BADGE SEPTEMBER

Program Dates:
Tuesday, September 16,  2025 - 7:00 PM to 9:00 PM

Tuesday, September 30, 2025 - 7:00 PM to 9:00 PM

Cost: $25.00 per youth.

Registration is limited to 10 scouts.

Attendance at both sessions required to complete the merit badge.

All sessions will be held at the Patriots' Path Council Service Center, 1 Saddle Road, Cedar Knolls, NJ.

Christine Dugan will be the merit badge counselor for this program.

DIGITAL TECHNOLOGY MERIT BADGE

Program Dates:
Tuesday, September 16,  2025 - 7:30 PM to 9:00 PM

Tuesday, September 30, 2025 - 7:30 PM to 9:00 PM

Cost: $25.00 per youth.

Registration is limited to 6 scouts.

Attendance at both sessions required to complete the merit badge.

Scouts must complete the appropriate "Personal Safety Awareness" videos for their rank, prior to attending the program.

Scouts will need a personal laptop for this merit badge.

All sessions will be held at PPC Service Center, 1 Saddle Rd, Cedar Knolls, NJ.  

Naved Surve will be the merit badge counselor for this program.

ELECTRICITY MERIT BADGE

Program Dates:

Thursday, October 2, 2025 - 7:00 PM to 9:00 PM

Thursday, October 16, 2025 - 7:00 PM to 9:00 PM

Cost: $25.00 per youth.

Registration is limited to 10 scouts.

Attendance at both sessions required to complete the merit badge.

All sessions will be held at the Patriots' Path Council Service Center, 1 Saddle Road, Cedar Knolls, NJ.

Ron Swanson will be the merit badge counselor for this program.

ENGINEERING MERIT BADGE

Program Dates:

Thursday, October 2, 2025 - 7:00 PM to 9:00 PM

Thursday, October 16, 2025 - 7:00 PM to 9:00 PM

Cost: $25.00 per youth.

Registration is limited to 10 scouts.

Attendance at both sessions required to complete the merit badge.

All sessions will be held at the Patriots' Path Council Service Center, 1 Saddle Road, Cedar Knolls, NJ.

John Bittner will be the merit badge counselor for this program.

FAMILY LIFE MERIT BADGE

Program Dates:

Saturday, September 6, 2025 -10:30 AM to 12:30 PM

Saturday, September 13, 2025 -10:30 AM to 12:30 PM

Tentative date for 3rd meeting- Saturday, December 13, 2025- Scouts must complete their 90 day program and then attend the follow up meeting with the merit badge counselor to complete the badge.

Cost: $25.00 per youth.

Registration is limited to 10 scouts.

Attendance at both sessions required to complete the merit badge.

All sessions will be held at the Patriots' Path Council Service Center, 1 Saddle Road, Cedar Knolls, NJ.

METALWORK MERIT BADGE SESSION #3

Program Dates:
Tuesday, September 23,  2025 - 7:00 PM to 9:00 PM at PPC Service Center

Tuesday, September 30, 2025 - 7:00 PM to 9:00 PM at Winnebago Scout Reservation

Cost: $40.00 per youth.

Registration is limited to 8 scouts.

Attendance at both sessions required to complete the merit badge.

The first session will be held at PPC Service Center, 1 Saddle Rd, Cedar Knolls, NJ.  

The second session will be located at Winnebago Scout Reservation, Handicraft Pavilion, 102 Timberbrook Rd, Rockaway, NJ.

Charlie Sonzogni will be the merit badge counselor for this program.

Consider piggybacking this merit badge with Welding which will be held on Oct. 14 & 21 at the same locations and times.

METALWORK MERIT BADGE SESSION #4

Tuesday, November 4, 2025 - 7:00 PM to 9:00 PM at Winnebago Scout Reservation

Cost: $40.00 per youth.

Registration is limited to 8 scouts.

Attendance at both sessions required to complete the merit badge.

The second session will be located at Winnebago Scout Reservation, Handicraft Pavilion, 102 Timberbrook Rd, Rockaway, NJ.

MUSIC MERIT BADGE

Monday, October 6, 2025 - 7:00 PM to 9:00 PM

Monday, October 20, 2025 - 7:00 PM to 9:00 PM

Scouts should bring their musical instrument, a music stand, and a music selection of their choice to the first session.

Cost: $25.00 per youth.

Registration is limited to 10 scouts.

Attendance at both sessions required to complete the merit badge.

All sessions will be held at the Patriots' Path Council Service Center, 1 Saddle Road, Cedar Knolls, NJ.

PERSONAL FITNESS MERIT BADGE #2

Program Dates:

Thursday, August 14, 2025 - 7:00 PM to 9:00 PM

Thursday, August 21, 2025 - 7:00 PM to 9:00 PM

Thursday, November 20, 2025 - 7:00 PM to 9:00 PM  Assumes completion of approved 12 week personal fitness plan.  

Prerequisite: Scouts must complete Requirement 1 (medical and dental exams) before participating.

Cost: $25.00 per youth.

Registration is limited to 10 scouts.

Attendance at both sessions required to complete the merit badge.

All sessions will be held at the Patriots' Path Council Service Center, 1 Saddle Road, Cedar Knolls, NJ.

PERSONAL MANAGEMENT MERIT BADGE SESSION  #3
