Patriots Path Council Adventure Programs Merit Badge Offerings

Please see below for a current list of all Merit Badges offered through PPC Adventure Programs.  These merit badges will typically be offered at the Council Service Center (1 Saddle Road, Cedar Knolls) or one of our camps (Mount Allamuchy Scout Reservation or Winnebago Scout Reservation).  Occasionally the merit badge will be at an off-site location.  Most of these merit badges will be completed on multiple dates as indicated in the individual registrations.  Attendance by the scouts is required at those dates to complete the merit badge unless otherwise arranged with the MB counselor.

AMERICAN BUSINESS

Program Dates:

Thursday, April 16, 2026 - 7:00 PM to 9:00 PM

Thursday, April 30, 2026 - 7:00 PM to 9:00 PM

Prerequisites - Scouts should have reviewed the requirements for the meirt badge and prepared material to cover requirements 1b, 5, and 6.

Attendance at both meetings is required to complete the merit badge.Cost: $30 per youth.

Registration is limited to 10 Scouts.

Both session will be at Eagles Landing, Camp Somers, MASR, 750 Waterloo Road, Stanhope, NJ.

Jessica Eichner is the merit badge counselor.

Attendance at all meetings is required to complete the merit badge.

ASTRONOMY MERIT BADGE

Kevin B. Alton, author of over 50 papers on variable stars an and asteroids, will be the merit badge counselor for this exciting program.

Program Dates:

Tuesday, April 7, 2026 - 5:00 PM to 7:30 PM

Tuesday, April 21, 2026 - 5:00 PM to 7:30 PM

Tuesday, May 5, 2026 - 5:00 PM to 7:30 PM

Attendance at all three sessions is required to complete the merit badge.

Cost: $30 per youth.

Registration is limited to 8 Scouts.

Both session will be at PPC Service Center, 1 Saddle Road, Cedar Knolls, NJ.

CHESS MERIT BADGE 

Saturday, April 11, 2026 - 10:30 AM to 2:30 PM

Lunch is included (pizza and soft drink).

Cost: $20 per youth.

Registration is limited to 40 Scouts.  

This program will be at PPC Service Center, 1 Saddle Road, Cedar Knolls, NJ.

Tom Andrea is the merit badge counselor. Scouts will not be able to complete all the requirements for the merit badge in one session.

CITIZENSHIP IN THE COMMUNITY #1

Program Dates:

Thursday, January 22, 2026 - 7 PM to 9 PM

Thursday, April 16th, 2026 - 7 PM to 9 PM

Attendance at both meetings is required to complete the merit badge.

Cost: $30 per youth.

Registration is limited to 10 Scouts.

Both session will be at PPC Service Center, 1 Saddle Road, Cedar Knolls, NJ.

Monday, March 16, 2026 - 7 PM to 9 PM

Registration is limited to 10 Scouts.

ELECTRICITY MERIT BADGE

Cost: $30.00 per youth.

Registration is limited to 10 Scouts.

EMERGENCY PREPAREDNESS MERIT BADGE

Attendance at both sessions is required to complete the merit badge. 

Cost: $30.00 per youth.

FAMILY LIFE

Saturday, June 20, 2026 at 10:30 AM - Scouts must complete their 90 day program requirements and then attend this follow up session with the merit badge counselor to complete the badge.   

Attendance at both meetings is required to complete the merit badge.

METALWORK SESSION #1

Program Dates:

Tuesday, April 7, 2026 - 7:00 PM to 9:00 PM at PPC Service Center

Tuesday, April 14, 2026 - 7:00 PM to 9:00 PM at Winnebago Scout Reservation

Attendance at both meetings is required to complete the merit badge.

The first session is held at PPC Service Center, 1 Saddle Rd, Cedar Knolls, NJ.  The second session is at Winnebago Scout Reservation, 102 Timberbrook Rd, Rockaway, NJ.

Cost: $45 per youth.

Registration is limited to 8 Scouts.

Consider piggybacking this merit badge with the Metalwork merit badge, held on April 21 and 28, at the same locations and times.

Both session will be at PPC Service Center, 1 Saddle Road, Cedar Knolls, NJ.

PERSONAL FITNESS  SESSION #2

Program Dates:

Thursday, March 5, 2026 - 7 PM to 9 PM

Thursday, March 19, 2026 - 7 PM to 9 PM

Thursday, June 11, 2026 - 7:00 to 9:00 PM 

3rd meeting- Scouts must complete required 12 week fitness program for the 3rd meeting.

Prerequisite: Scouts must complete Requirement 1 (medical/dental exams) before first meeting.

Cost: $30 per youth.

Registration is limited to 10 Scouts.

Sessions will be at PPC Service Center, 1 Saddle Road, Cedar Knolls, NJ and Whippany Park High School for the Personal Fitness Assessment.

PERSONAL MANAGEMENT SESSION #1

This merit badge is offered as a three-session program on Tuesday evenings.

Program Dates:

Tuesday, February 3, 2026 - 7:00 PM to 9:00 PM

Tuesday, February 17, 2026 - 7:00 PM to 9:00 PM

Tuesday, May 19, 2026 - 7:00 PM  Scouts must complete their 13-week budget program requirements and then attend this follow up meeting with the merit badge counselor to complete this bagde.

Attendance at all meetings is required to complete the merit badge.

Cost: $30 per youth.

Registration is limited to 10 Scouts.

Both session will be at PPC Service Center, 1 Saddle Road, Cedar Knolls, NJ.

PERSONAL MANAGEMENT SESSION #2

This merit badge is offered as a three-session program on Thursday evenings.

Registration is limited to 10 Scouts.

Scouts must complete the appropriate "Personal Safety Awareness" videos for their rank, prior to the start of the program.

Scouts will need a personal laptop to participate in this merit badge class.

Cost: $30 per youth.

Registration is limited to 6 Scouts.

Both session will be at PPC Service Center, 1 Saddle Road, Cedar Knolls, NJ.

SUSTAINABLITY

Program Dates:

Registration is limited to 10 Scouts.

WELDING #1

Program Dates:

Attendance at both meetings is required to complete the merit badge.
