This registration is for Patriots' Path Council's trip to Summit Bechtel Family Reserve July 13 - July 19, 2025 to participate in the Marksmanship Program.
What’s Included:
Three range days with the contingent at Patriots' Path Council Camps.
Transportation to The Summit Bechtel Reserve as part of the council contigent.
At the Barrels we will experience 5-Stand Shotgun, sporting clays, USPSA Steel Challenge and practical shooting stages, and a full Precision Rifle course on the 1000-yard rifle range! Then we head over to the Bows for Archery, including Static (10m), Olympic Range (90m), 3D targets, Sporting Arrows (Laporte) and Crossbow!
On Friday while at the Summit, the contingent will enjoy ½ day of white water rafting in the New River Gorge and a trip down the ¾ mile Zipline!
This trip will also count toward the triple crown award.
Eligibility: Participants must be 14 years of age, or 13 years old and have completed eighth grade, prior to arrival at The Bechtel Summit Reserve. Prior to arrival at the Summit Bechtel Scouting Reserve, the council will aid in registration into a Venture Crew to meet the National participation standards. There is no extra cost for registration for all individuals currently registered in a ScoutsBSA Troop or existing Crew.

Skill Level:
Participants should have a basic understanding of Shooting Sports activities. Rifle Shooting, Shotgun Shooting and Archery merit badges are recommended, but not required.
The trip will cost approximately $2,100, which is subject to a final payment to cover additional transportation costs. Transporation fees subject to significant fluctuation beyond the control of Patriots’ Path Council.
Upon registration, a $500 deposit is required to secure the spot. Initial deposit can be made directly online, by check mailed to the council service center, or by visiting one of the Scout shops. Completion of the online registration is required regardless of payment method. Registration is on a first-come, first-served basis.
There is an additional 3% charge for all credit card payments, which is the council's cost. The 3% credit card processing fee is the same regardless of paying directly online or through the council office and Scout shops. Payments by cash or check will not incur a 3% processing fee.
Subsequent payments are due per the payment schedule below - either online or directly to Patriots' Path Council:

$275 on or before 11/15/2024
$275 on or before 1/15/2025
$275 on or before 3/15/2025
$275 on or before 5/15/2025

Trip Insurance:
Patriots’ Path Council does not provide trip insurance for its participants as it is less expensive for individuals to purchase trip insurance for themselves than it is for the council to purchase a group policy. The council strongly recommends that each family consider purchasing trip insurance that may best meet their needs.
Cancellation Policy:
High Adventure and Jamboree Refund Policy For all High Adventure activities, $100 of the initial fee is non-refundable. When an individual cancels their reservation prior to departure, they risk losing some, if not all, of his balance paid to date. Only those monies which have not yet been committed to air fare, bus transportation, lodging, program activities and meal plans can be refunded. The High Adventure Committee Chairman and the staff advisor who oversees High Adventure activities within the Council, will determine the amount of the refund, if any.
