Patriots Path Council Adventure Programs Merit Badge Offerings

Please see below for a current list of all Merit Badges offered through PPC Adventure Programs.  These merit badges will typically be offered at the Council Service Center (1 Saddle Road, Cedar Knolls) or one of our camps (Mount Allamuchy Scout Reservation or Winnebago Scout Reservation).  Occasionally the merit badge will be at an off-site location.  Most of these merit badges will be completed on multiple dates as indicated in the individual registrations.  Attendance by the scouts is required at those dates to complete the merit badge unless otherwise arranged with the MB counselor.

ASTRONOMY MERIT BADGE

Kevin B. Alton, author of over 50 papers on variable stars and asteroids, will be the merit badge counselor for this exciting program.

Attendance at all three sessions is required to complete the merit badge.

Cost: $25.00 per youth.

AVIATION MERIT BADGE

Program Dates:

Wednesday, April 26, 2023 - 7:00 PM to 9:00 PM

Wednesday, May 10, 2023 - 7:00 PM to 9:00 PM

Saturday, May 13, 2023 - 9:00 AM - 12:00 PM

Attendance at all three sessions is required to complete the merit badge.

Cost: $25.00 per youth.

Registration limited to 10 Scouts.

Wednesday sessions held at the PPC Service Center, 1 Saddle Road, Cedar Knolls, NJ 07927.

Saturday session held at Morristown Airport.

Tom Flatley will be the merit badge counselor for this program.

DIGITAL TECHNOLOGY MERIT BADGE

*Scouts must complete 'Cyberchip' prior to the program.

Attendance at both sessions is required to complete the merit badge. Scouts will need a personal laptop to participate in this merit badge activity.

ENGINEERING MERIT BADGE

FIRST AID MERIT BADGE

FORESTRY MERIT BADGE

Prerequist must be completed before the session (participants will be notified of requirements).

Cost: $25.00 per youth.

Registration is limited to 20 Scouts.

HEALTH CARE PROFESSIONS MERIT BADGE

Attendance at both sessions AND a follow up session is required to complete the merit badge.

Cost: $25.00 per youth.

LAW MERIT BADGE

METALWORKING MERIT BADGE

Program Dates:

Attendance at both sessions is required to complete the merit badge.

Cost: $30.00 per youth.

Resgistration is limited to 8 Scouts.

All session will be held at Winnebago Scout Reservation Handicraft Pavillion, 102 Timerbrook Road, Rockaway, NJ 07866.

Charlie Sonzongni will be the merit badge counselor for this program.

*Consider piggy backing this merit badge with Welding, which will be held on April 29 & May 13 in the same location.

MUSIC MERIT BADGE

*Scout must bring musical instrument, music stand, and music selection of their choice to the first session.

PERSONAL FITNESS MERIT BADGE

Attendance at both sessions is required.

Third session to be arranged with the counselor upon completion of approved 90 day personal fitness plan.

Cost: $25.00 per youth.

PERSONAL MANAGEMENT MERIT BADGE

Three session program.

VETERINARY MEDICINE MERIT BADGE

Field Trip to Oradell Animal Hospital:  Tuesday, August 8, 2023 - 2:00 PM - 4:00 PM

Participant attendance at classroom sessions above is required to complete the merit badge.    Field Trip to the Oradell Animal Hospital covers requirement 6.  Scouts may arrange alternative field trip on their own.

Cost: $25.00 per participant.

Registration is limited to 10 Scouts.

First two sessions held in Rufalo Room at PPC Service Center 1 Saddle Road, Cedar Knolls.
