Specialized Training for Incoming Youth Leaders for 2019 Start-Up Troops 900039

Event Details

Come on out and learn some of the basics of the Scouts BSA program (the new name for the Boy Scout program starting February 1, 2019).  This course will show new Scouts what being in Scouts BSA is all about. You’ll be able to know what to do and have more FUN in your new Troop right from the start! 

Who Should Attend?

Potential Youth Leaders of Troops starting up in 2019 who have no experience with the BSA
Arrow of Light Scouts crossing over to start-up Troops in 2019

What Will I Do There?

Sessions will include a blend of Scouting Information and Hands-on Skills Instruction with lots of FUN:

Troop Structure and Patrol Method
Camping Gear Essentials and Selection
Fire Building and Campfire Programs
Outdoor Ethics, Nature, and Hiking
First Aid
Stoves and Lanterns
Leadership and Teamwork
Basic Knots and Outdoor Cooking
Map and Compass
Advancement and Merit Badges

Training Course Details:
Friday
5:00 to 6:00 - Registration
6:00 to 7:15 – Camp Set Up
7:15 to 7:45 - Welcome and Opening

Friday 7:45 pm to Noon Sunday
Scout info instruction, snacks, hands-on skills, meals, FUN, and sleeping in cabins!

Cost: $35  

Please bring a copy of The Boy Scout Handbook – the basic resource for all Scouts.
