FAQ's
1. What is a Camporee?
A Camporee is a districtwide event promoting Scout skills and fun. It is meant to be used by the troops or packs as one means of measuring progress in developing their Scouts. Camporees will provide ten competition events for each patrol or Webelo den. You will find the list of events in the 2022 Leader's Guide.
2. Will there be food provided?
Not at this time! Troops and Packs who plan to attend this camporee should prepare meals for the time they will be participating. In addition, Scouts who have leadership and cooking merit badge requirements to complete, can use this camporee to fullfill those requirements.
3. Who is elligbile to attend?
Webelo Dens and Patrols with Scouts of any rank will all benefit from attending. This year, we are welcoming prospective Scouts and Webelos to attend Saturday events ONLY in order to get to know more about Scouting programs! To register as a brand New Scout or Webelo please use the "Prospective Scout" option with the fee of $5.
4. Do we need to be vaccinated?
You do not need to be vaccinated to attend, however at this time, the covid pre-screening will be required of each attendee. (Form can be found under event documents.)
5. Will there be bathrooms and showers available?
Yes! There will be flush toilets and latrines available for use throughout the camp; shower houses will also be open for the weekend.
6. Do we bring our own tents?
Yes! The campsites have platforms already laid out and you can set up your tent on top of those or on the ground if you choose.
7. How do Scout leaders prepare for this event?
In the Leader's guide we have detailed explanations of each of the challenges and scout skills that will be needed for them; it would be best if your dens or patrols worked on them for 2-3 meetings leading up to the event. We also have a list of euqipment that we reccomend you have with you. If you are a NEW Scout or family not currently associated with an established Pack or Troop, we will help provide any equipemnt needed for the challenges.
SCOUT LEADERS AND PARENTS, PLEASE REVIEW THE LEADER'S GUIDE FOUND UNDER THE REGISTRATION BUTTON IN THE EVENT DOCUMENTS. MORE DETAILED INSTRUCTIONS ON THE EVENT AND CHALLENGES CAN BE FOUND THERE.
