Wood Badge Leadership Training 2025
Every Scout deserves a well-trained leader. Are you that leader? Complete Wood Badge and you will be! In doing so, you will change not only your life but also the lives of the youth you lead. In 2025, Nevada Area Council will offer Wood Badge at Rafter 66 Ranch just north of Reno on July 18-22. Participants are required to attend the full course and must be at least 18 years of age. Wood Badge will help you improve your leadership skills in a fun outdoor setting. You’ll be a part of a Cub Pack and a Scouts BSA Troop as you learn from amazing instructors, your fellow participants, and even from youth! Over the course of 5 days, you will learn and experience the themes of Wood Badge: Connecting, Guiding, Empowering, Growing, and Living the Values.

Woodbadge is the premier adult leadership training course offered by the Boy Scouts of America. Vision Devleopment, Goal Setting, Situational Leadership, and Stages of Team Development only begin to scratch the surface. For many, Woodbadge is a life changing experience. This course is open to Registered Scouters in the Nevada Area Council from all programs, and positions. It is also open to Scouters from other Councils as well.
Youth Staff is by invitation only. Need Seven Youth Staff. Minimum requirement is 14 YO and First Class. NYLT is highly recommended for the Scout to be selected for this days program facilitation.
Youth Staff Schedule:
Introduced at Opening Flags on Day 4 at Gilwell Field, Monday, July 21st. Arrive at 7:00 am to participate in breakfast
If not able to make the Opening Assembly, then they will be expected to arrive by 11:00AM prior to lunch and will perform the following duties.
1. Facilitate the Problem Solving-Round Robin games at 1:00 PM.
2. Facilitate the Problem Discussion on Problem Solving after the Round Robin Games.
3. Facilitate the Candelabra Activity
They should be prepared to provide 2.5 Hours of service on the afternoon (Until approx 3:30PM. They will depart Camp upon completion of the Candelabra experience. Remember that Patrols are moved off to the overnight/outdoor experience for this dinner so in camp it will just be staff for dinner.
