WE Merit Badge College

Event Details

The War Eagle Merit Badge College is a full day of advancement opportunities for Boy Scouts with over 30 merit badges to choose from and leader training for adult volunteers! The first 400 youth registered will receive the patch!

COST
Boy Scouts $15/person (Includes lunch and an event patch)
Adults $8 - Lunch
All day Red Cross First Aid and CPR Training $20 (includes Lunch)

Engineering #6b - Make a list of 10 electrical appliances in your home. Find out approximately how much electricity each uses in one month (record the number of hours the item is on to the nearest quarter hour). We will discuss the various amounts of energy used and the cost of that energy in the class. If the item is a light, note what type of bulb is being used (halogen, incandescent, LED, etc.)

Genealogy #3 - With your parent’s help, choose a relative or a family acquaintance you can interview in person, by telephone, or by email or letter.  Record the information you collect so that you will remember it. (They could do this also with a video camera.  There is a list of questions in the book from which to start; pages 10 & 13. OPTIONAL but recommended items would include:
  • Bring a PHOTO of a genealogical document that they might be able to share with the group which is #4B
  • Contact an individual or institution for what records they might be able to provide which is #5 any one of them

Law #4: the first half of the requirement is to talk with 5 people (not more than one from your immediate family) about the role of law enforcement officers in our society.

Scouting Heritage 2A, 2B, 4A or 4B or 4C (if you choose C, please contact your counselor Sarah Young at 712.310.9262. She can be interviewed. Or, you can visit the museum at the Durham Scout Center in Omaha) 5, 6 (not required but bring with you if you have one), and 8.
Truck Transportation Truck Transportation needs to leave at 8:30 am and require parents to transport their scouts. They will be traveling offsite to visit a truck shop.
