Summit Bechtel Reserve Contingent 2021

Event Details

Situated in the wilds of West Virginia, The Summit is a training, Scouting, and adventure center for the millions of youth and adults involved in the Boy Scouts of America and anyone who loves the outdoors. The Summit Bechtel Reserve is home to the James C. Justice National Scout Camp, the Paul R. Christen National High Adventure Base, and is the permanent home to the National Scout Jamborees. 

WHO
Individual or group registrations will be accepted.  Must be a currently registered Boy Scout, Varsity Scout, Venturer, or Sea Scout.

Minimum age: The Summit requires that all youth must be at least 13 years old by September 1, 2021 to attend, and at least 14 years old for some programs. NO EXCEPTIONS. Participants must know and use the Scout Oath and Law as their guide to appropriate behavior.

COST
The total fee for contingent participants will be $1,700.  The fee includes all Summit fees, transportation, meals, and special mementos for the Mid-America Council contingent.

Spots are limited to first-come, first-serve.  A non-refundable $200 deposit is required to reserve a spot.

Participants will receive additional information fall 2020 and early 2021 related to travel arrangements, program opportunities, and trip preparations.  The Mid-America Council reserves the right to add qualified participants to all crews up to the maximum registration limit.

Each participant must complete the required health forms for the contingent trip to the Paul R. Christen National High Adventure Base at the Summit Bechtel Reserve. Click here to download all appropriate health forms.

The Mid-America Council will be sending a council contingent to the Paul R. Christen National High Adventure Base at the Summit Bechtel Reserve in 2021!

Participants will enjoy the Summit Experience, which includes a half-day program at each of the Summit's adventure sports venues - The Canopy, The Rocks, Low and High Gear, The Park, The Trax, The Bows, The Barrels, Bravo Lake and The Ropes. Participants will also get a thrilling ride down the 3,100' Big Zip! The Summit Contingent Committee reserves the right to not accept a registration if the candidate is not fit physically or emotionally for the trip.
