Northern Tier Contingent - Okpik 2021/2022

Event Details

The Mid-America Council will be sending a council contingent to Northern Tier for the winter Okpik program in 2021/2022! There will be 2 crews of up to 16 total participants.  

NORTHERN TIER
Northern Tier offers cold weather experiences including shelter building, skiing, snowshoeing, and a taste of dog sledding. (www.ntier.org)

WHO
Individual or group registrations will be accepted.  Must be a currently registered Scout BSA, Varsity Scout, Venturer, or Sea Scout.

MINIMUM AGE
Northern Tier requires that all youth must be 13 years by the time they arrive to Northern Tier. NO EXCEPTIONS. Participants must know and use the Scout Oath and Law as their guide to appropriate behavior.

WHEN
December 26, 2021 - January 2, 2022  (dates are tentative)

Participants should plan to depart Omaha on December 26 and return to Omaha January 2. 
 
COST
The total fee for contingent participants will be $1,500.  The fee includes all Northern Tier fees, preparation weekend, travel arrangements, any side trips, meals, and special mementos for the Mid-America Council contingent.  Spots are limited to first-come, first-serve.  A non-refundable $200 deposit is required to reserve a spot.

Participants will receive additional information related to travel arrangements, program opportunities, and trip preparations.  The Mid-America Council reserves the right to add qualified participants to all crews up to the maximum registration limit.
