The Mid-America Council will be sending a council contingent to Northern Tier for the Okpik program in 2018/2019! We are planning to send 2 crews of up to 16 total participants.
Northern Tier offers cold weather experiences including shelter building, skiing, snowshoeing, and a taste of dog sledding. (www.ntier.org)
Individual or group registrations will be accepted. Must be a currently registered Boy Scout, Varsity Scout, Venturer, or Sea Scout.
Northern Tier requires that all youth must be 13 years by the time they arrive to Northern Tier. NO EXCEPTIONS. Participants must know and use the Scout Oath and Law as their guide to appropriate behavior.
December 26, 2018 - January 2, 2019
Participants should plan that the contingent will leave the Omaha area on December 26, 2018 and return to the Omaha area on January 2, 2019.
The total fee for contingent participants will be $1,400. The fee includes all Northern Tier fees, preparation weekend at Little Sioux Scout Ranch, travel arrangements, any side trips, meals, and special mementos for the Mid-America Council contingent. Spots are limited to first-come, first-serve. A non-refundable $200 deposit is required to reserve a spot.
Participants will receive additional information related to travel arrangements, program opportunities, and trip preparations. The Mid-America Council reserves the right to add qualified participants to all crews up to the maximum registration limit.
