General information:

The Mid-America Council plans to send 6 troops to the 2017 National Scout Jamboree.  Each troop will consist of 36 youth and 4 adults.  The theme of the 2017 National Scout Jamboree is "Live Scouting's Adventure."

youth requirement:  Scouts attending must be a registered Boy Scout, Varsity Scout, or Venture Scout in the Mid-America Council.  Boy Scouts must be at least 12 years old and First Class rank by the time of the contingent's departure.  All Boy Scouts and Varsity Scouts must be younger than 18 for the duration of the trip and Venture Scouts must be younger than 21 for the duration of the trip.

adult requirement:  Adults attending with the council's contingent must be registered in the Mid-America Council, interviewed by the Jamboree committee, and be approved by the Scout Executive prior to being able to register online.  The adult leader application can be found here.

dates:  July 15-29, 2017 (dates are tentative to include travel, 4 touring days in Washington, DC, and the Jamboree itself)

location:  Summit Bechtel Family National Scout Reserve (aka The Summit), West Virginia

cost:  $2,800 per person; will include Jamboree fee, air transportation, tours, meal allowance during travel, lodging, insurance, contingent mementos

A $200 deposit required to reserve a spot in the contingent and a full payment schedule is available in the attachments section to the right on this page.  All fees must be paid by March 31, 2017.

2016 Popcorn Sale:  Jamboree Troops/Crew have the ability to earn 50% sales commission during the 2016 fall popcorn sale!  Those selling through the Jamboree Troop/Crew must be currently registered to attend the National Scout Jamboree to be eligible for the 50% commission.  Contact your Jamboree Troop's Scoutmaster for additional details.

Camperships:  Campership funds are available from the BSA for those attending the National Scout Jamboree.  The application is available online at https://reservations.scouting.org/profile/form/index.cfm?PKformID=0x51529b221 and due no later than February 15, 2017.  Camperships will be awarded up to $975.
