Omaha Police Department Program

Event Details

Explorer Post #591 is a program for young men and women who are at least 15 years of age but are not yet 21 who are interested in Law Enforcement, Criminal Justice, and or Forensics. The primary goals of the Explorer Program are to help young adults choose a career path within law enforcement and also to challenge them to become responsible, active citizens in their communities. It combines classroom participation, hands-on training, city-wide tours, Community Policing events, community service and much more.

The program will run from late September through early December. We will break for the holidays until after the second week of January and resume classes through May. Please note the start/end months and dates might fluctuate. For questions, please contact the program advisor, Ruben Soto at (402)444-5773.

This program will start meeting on October 3rd at the Public Safety Training Center 11616 Rainwood Rd and will meet every other Thursday from 6:30 - 8:30 pm. The cost will be $60.00 per student. The program will run for eight months.
