Creighton Pharmacy Program
Creighton University School of Pharmacy and Health Professions Program
Description:
If you are interested in pursuing a career in pharmacy, please join us for our Pharmacy Exploring Program at Creighton University School of Pharmacy and Health Professions. We are excited to offer you the opportunity to explore three separate pharmacy settings including community, ambulatory care, and hospital. The purpose of this program is to introduce high school students to pharmacy as a possible career option through guest speakers, discussions with professional students, and various hands-on learning experiences.
Some of the activities that will be covered include compounding medications such as creams and suspensions, assessing blood pressures, counseling on over-the-counter medications, and observing the mixture of intravenous medications. At the end of our session, you will use the skills you have learned to compete against fellow Explorers for the title of Best Pharmacy Explorer.
You must be able to commit to the entire 7-hour session in order to enroll for our Pharmacy Exploring Program. Upon completion of our Pharmacy Exploring Program, you will understand the importance of teamwork in the healthcare setting, improve your leadership skills, and develop relationships with other like-minded high school students. Additionally, we encourage you to include our Pharmacy Exploring Program on your resume as you will receive a formal certificate of completion.
