BALOO and IOLS Training

Take your leadership skills to the next level by attending the Northwest Iowa District BALOO & IOLS Training Weekend at the Dickinson County Nature Center in Okoboji, Iowa, on August 7-9.

Whether you’re a Cub Scout leader looking to complete BALOO (Basic Adult Leader Outdoor Orientation) or a Scouts BSA leader needing Introduction to Outdoor Leader Skills (IOLS), this hands-on weekend will help you gain the knowledge and confidence to deliver safe, fun, and successful outdoor adventures for your Scouts. Learn essential outdoor skills, connect with fellow leaders from across the district, complete required training for camping and outdoor programs, build confidence in leading youth in the outdoors, invest in your Scouting program and help create unforgettable experiences for the youth you serve.

Packs are required to have at least one leader trained in Baloo for camping/outdoor activities and Scoutmasters/ASMs must complete IOLS to be considered fully trained. Contact your district training team or visit your council registration page for more information and to register.

Attendees will be required to bring their own camping equipment. Contact one of the event organizers if need assistance with gear.
