Climbing Merit Badge Clinic

Calling all Scouts in the Cornhusker Council. This is a one day clinic hosted at the Cornhusker Councils Outdoor Education Center. To earn in this Merit Badge you must Rappel off the 40foot rock wall three times, climb three different routes and you must be present for the entire Clinic. First Aid Merit Badge is a highly recommended perquisite to have the best chances of earning this merit badge.
You must have a minimum of 4 scouts per a Troop Register for this Clinic. Due to the extensive requirements of this Merit Badge, a certified instructor will need to make a visit to your Troop’s regular meeting night, at least a week in advance of this clinic to deliver 45 minutes of Program Helps and Program Materials. There are 5 required knots that Scouts must know how to tie before the day of this Clinic, these will be taught during the program helps portion leading up to this Clinic.
Please ensure Scouts are wearing climbing appropriate clothing: No necklaces, loose/baggy clothing and close toed shoes (sneakers or running shoes). Scouts with long hair need to tie back their hair.
Fee’s Include: All gear needed to climb, lunch, scouting neck gaiter, guidebook, climbing merit badge patch and a limited edition give away item (seasonal).
