NRA Shotgun Instructor

Event Details

This training is another step in becoming a certified instructor/MB counselor for rifle, shotgun and pistol safety courses.

This course teaches the knowledge, skills, and attitude essential to organizing, promoting, and teaching NRA's Basic Shotgun Shooting Course. 

Prerequisite: Possession of basic firearm safety and shooting skills is a prerequisite for certification as an NRA instructior.  Successful completion of the Shotgun Basic Course is required for this class.  Prior to the instructor training, candidates complete a pre-course questionnaire and demonstrate their firearm background in pre-course assessment exercises.  Course is presented in two parts: basic instructor training and discipline specific instructor training.  Students having completed the Basic Instructor Training Course in the last two years will not be required to attend that portion of the course. 

Cost of this standalone course is $125.00

Individuals who indicate a wish to become a Merit Badge Counselor and make the commitment to provide that service to the BSA for a minimum of 2 years will be give a discounted rate of $50.00

You will need to bring a sack lunch.
