The Overland Trails Council and the Mid-America Council Boards have arrived at this decision after careful consideration and months of discussions. The challenging circumstances faced by Scouting in recent years have motivated both Councils to join forces and unite resources. This merger aims to create a stronger organization that can provide enhanced opportunities for youth in the region.

The merger will bring numerous benefits to both Councils, including additional staff, expanded camping opportunities, and a broader range of programs. The synergy between the two Councils will strengthen the Scouting experience for all youth.

Current Scouts and volunteers in Overland Trails Council should experience a seamless transition, with our aim to maintain and improve Scouting experiences for all communities involved.
