Who’s ready for race day? Bring your Pinewood Derby car and put those wheels to the test at District Races!

When: March 4th, Check in from 10am to 11:30. The first race begins at 12:30
Where: Kenny Simpson Nissan. 3135 Prospect Ave
Registration: $5 for Cub Scout Class, $6 for Open Class

Rules:

• Width shall not exceed 2-3/4 inches
• Length shall not exceed 7 inches
• Weight shall not exceed 5 ounces
• Axles, wheels, and body shall be from the materials provided in the kit.
• Wheel bearings, washers, magnets, and bushings are prohibited.
• No lubricating oil may be used. Axles may be lubricated with powdered graphite powder or silicone.
• The car shall nor ride on any kind of spring.
• The car must be free-wheeling, with no starting devices.
• No loose materials of any kind are allowed in the car.
• The car’s four wheels must be in contact with the race track.

Please check in your car between 10am and 11:30 on race day at Kenny Simpson Nissan. Failure to check in your car during this time may result in you not being able to race. Pinewood Derby cars that do not meet these regulations will not be allowed to race. Car owners who fail to pass inspection will be given time to bring their car back into regulation.

Once cars have been checked in, you will not be able to handle it again until after the race. Please make sure everything is as you would like it to be when you check in. This includes graphite lubricant: Adding graphite after check in is not allowed

Registration includes one Prickly Pear District Pinewood Derby patch, patches will be ordered and delivered to your unit after the event. Trophies are available for 1st, 2nd, and 3rd place in each Den and Open Class. Best of Show and Last but not Least will also be awarded.
