2023 Klondike Winter Camporee

Scouts BSA - Northwest and Silvertip District

January 20-22, 2023

Years ago, hearty men and women raced across the frozen Alaskan wilderness by means of dogs and sleds answering the call of the wild in search of gold. This year young men and women and their sleds are once again called to the Coram horse pasture to test their winter camping skills, knowledge of scout craft, and strength of spirit.  Are your scouts willing to “Be Prepared” for whatever adventure lay ahead?  Will your patrol be the one to meet the challenge and bring back gold?

When: January 20-22, 2023
Where: Coram (Martin City), Montana
Who: -Scouts and Adult Scouters from Montana Council’s Western Districts
          -Webelos - Saturday only
Cost: -$15.00 per Scout and Scouter
          -$10.00 per Webelos
Registration: Due by January 13th, 2023  **NEW FOR 2023**

Arrival: Anytime Friday
Check-in:  Friday after 5 pm – no refund policy for dropped pre-registered individuals
Latrines: Provided
Gear:

  • Each troop is responsible for its own tents, wood, water, equipment and food.
  • All straw or hay must be weed free certified.  Local rancher and Scouts BSA supporter Carl Schrade will donate certified straw for all troops – Must have bale count turned in by Jan. 10th .
  • Fire pans are required for all fires
  • Patrols (6-8 Scouts / Webelos) Webelos should be integrated into troop patrols
  • Klondike Sled is recommended to carry gear for “Be Prepared”
  • Sleds may be of any homemade design, but must include:
  • Suitable to carry necessary equipment
  • Connections must be lashings, pegs, bolts or screws (no nails)
  • Pull rigging for all patrol members minus musher
  • Display patrol flag on sled
  • There is NO wild game feed Saturday evening – troops cook on their own
  • Scout Physicals must be available on site
  • Troop, patrol and U.S. Flags
  • Patrol/Sled inventory list – “Be Prepared” See handout.
