Join us for an exciting day of racing at the Mullan Trail District Pinewood Derby on Saturday, March 28 at Missoula Chevrolet! All Cub Scouts are invited to compete, with additional sibling and adult racing classes so the whole family can get in on the fun.

Schedule:

• Registration: 9:00–10:00 AM
• Races: 10:00 AM–12:00 PM
• Lunch: 12:00 PM (provided for all participants and their families)

This event is free to attend, but registration is required. Registration closes March 25 at midnight.

Bring your best car, cheer on your racers, and enjoy a great day with fellow Scouting families!

Sportsmanship overview:

• The spirit of the derby is that it is a Scout/parent project where we have FUN, explore the physics of car building and learn sportsmanship from each other.

Construction rules summary:

• Weight shall not exceed 5 ounces.
• Width shall not exceed 2-3/4 inches.
• Length shall not exceed 7 inches.
• Axles, wheels, and body shall be from the materials provided in the kit. Additional wheels can be purchased separately.
• Wheel bearings, washers, and bushings are prohibited.
• Wheels must be placed where the kit has them originally placed.
• All four wheels must touch the track.
• No lubricating oil may be used. Axles may be lubricated with powdered graphite or silicone.
• The car shall not ride on any kind of spring.
• The car must be free-wheeling, with no starting devices.
• No loose materials of any kind are allowed in the car.
