Spaces for only 100 competitors!*  50 in Group A and 50 in Group B                   
$20 to register by September 29, $25 after (scholarships available)   Fee covers all ammo, targets, lunch, and event t-shirt. 

Plaques will be given out to the 1st, 2nd, and 3rd place shooters and for those who compete in the obstacle course.   

Tent camping is available the night before.  Cabins may be available for family reservations - please contact Liz at elizabeth.belter@scouting.org for details.   

SCHEDULE (subject to change)
9 am                     Registration for Group A
9:30 am                Required Safety Briefing / Group split into 5 subgroups of 10
10 am                   Subgroups head to first station – rotate every 35 minutes             
                             Stations:  Pistol range for competition   Other 4: Sporting arrows, Law Enforcement displays,
                             Challenge Obstable course with 1st, 2nd, & 3rd awards, and more!

11:30 am              Registration for Group B
Noon                    Lunch for all

12:30 pm              Required Safety Briefing / Group B split into 5 subgroups of 10 / Group A departs or camp tour

1:30 pm                Subgroups head to first station – rotate every 35 minutes             
                             Stations:  Pistol range for competition   Other 4: Sporting arrows, 
                             Law Enforcement displays, Challenge Obstable course with 1st, 2nd, & 3rd awards, and slack line course

2:30 pm               Conclude competition – present awards to top 3 shooters


Details

Please fill out the Permission Form in the Attachment Box to the right and bring out to the competition when checking in.  This is mandatory. 

· All firearms and ammunition are provided. Please do not bring any personal firearms or ammunition to the competition. No previous training is necessary.
· If you have eye and ear protection please bring it.  If you do not have any, it will be provided.
· Targets will be provided.
· Each participant will participate will shoot at 5 targets at different distances – 50 rounds in total.
· Each participant will be allowed to familiarize themselves with and shoot the firearms before competing. Primary competition will be completed using .22 pistols, the final scoring rounds to break ties.
· Scoring will be explained in detail at the competition, but it will be based on the ability to provide tight, consistent groupings (similar to the rifle shooting merit badge requirements).  Every participant will be required to be present for the safety briefing, first thing in the morning or afternoon, or they will not be allowed to compete. 

*Youth who are not members in a listed BSA program are encouraged to join an Explorer Post, Venturing Crew, or Sea Ship on day of event to participate: requires application, and fees if joining a Post.  Please contact Julie Monken at julie.monken@scouting.org for Exploring enrollment link. 

Scouts BSA youth from a Troop are not able to compete.  They must be a member of a Crew, Post, or Ship.
