This year's CUB SCOUT NOVA DAY at the St. Louis Science Center will offer the Down & Dirty NOVA.

CUB SCOUT NOVA DAY

Be a part of our 4th annual Cub Scout NOVA Day for the Cub Scouts who are Wolf through Webelos ranks, sponsored by the spectacular Saint Louis Science Center. Activities will include: making and erupting volcanoes, viewing our Greatest Places Omnimax film, a chat with a real paleontologist, exploring our Ecology and Environment Gallery, and the Digging In The Past, Super Science, and Adventures in Science rank-specific scout workshops.

Who: Wolves, Bears, Webelos, parents, and Scout leaders. No Tiger Cubs please.
When: Saturday, September 9, 2017
Time: 8:45 a.m. to 1:45 p.m. (Sign-ins will not begin before 8:30 am)
Where: Planetarium in Forest Park. The Scouts will start in the Planetarium for the grand session, and end there as a pick up point at the end of the day. The Planetarium entrance in Forest Park has free parking - there is a fee if you park at the main entrance.
Cost: $25 per Scout thru August 27. $30 after August 27 thru September 3 - final deadline. Parents/adult leaders are free.

Payment: Mastercard, VISA, and Discover. Registration online only. NO REFUNDS after August 27.

Cub Scout participants will be capped at 80. First come, first served.   PLEASE BRING A LUNCH. There are also food options for purchase at the Science Center.  

Down and Dirty NOVA Day Schedule: 
8:30am - 8:45am: Check in (Main Lobby, First Floor)
8:45am - 9:00am: Introductions (Omnimax, Second Floor)
9:00am - 9:45am: Greatest Places Film (Omnimax, Second Floor)
10:00am - 11:30am: Rank-Specific Adventure Workshops
11:35am - 12:05pm: Lunch (May Hall, Lower Level)
12:10pm - 12:55pm: Volcano Class (May Hall, Lower Level)
1:00pm - 1:45pm: Paleo Chat (GROW Classroom, GROW)


Scouts should be in the care of a responsbile adult or Pack leader.

NOVA DAY Rules and Regulations:
• All attending Scouters (Adults and Youth) should be in field uniform for the event.
• Two registered event leaders or approved parents from each Pack are required to supervise Scouts and required to stay on Center campus at all times. If a single Scout comes from a Pack, a parent can serve as their supervision.
• Attending leaders/parents will need to fill out the 'Additional Guest Names' section.
• Scouts will follow the buddy system when touring the Center.
• NO food or drink is allowed in the classrooms.
• Parking is available for free at the Planetarium in Forest Park.
• Parents should be be prompt when dropping off and picking up Scouts at the Planetarium entrance.
• Scout Law and Oath - We are guests of the St. Louis Science Center. We are privileged, to be able to use this facility. Please be respectful to buildings and classrooms. Each Scout should conduct themselves in the true spirit of the Scout Law, Scout Oath, and the Outdoor Code. Please practice “leave no trace” during your visit.
• NO electronic devices allowed!! This is a learning environment. All cell phones should be placed on vibrate or turned off.
• The Saint Louis Science Center is not responsible for accidents or damaged or lost property.
