Boone Trails 2018 Spring Camporee - "Living the Motto"
April 20-22 at Beaumont Scout Reservation - Lane and Shippey Fields
The theme for our annual Boone Trails Spring Camporee this spring is "Living the Motto". Our Campmaster and his team have put together a weekend of fun for Boy Scouts (young and old), Webelo Scouts, and of course Leaders too! We are returning to the roots of Scouting with activities, skills and friendly competitions. Planned program includes traditional activities such as Capture the Flag, Knife & Hawk, Shotgun and BB-Gun, Scouting & OA History and Fire-building. There will also be newer activities unique to this event, such as Rope Making, and an Orienteering Scavenger Hunt.
Early Rank Advancement skills will be offered for younger scouts and an overnight to Blackberry Hollow is offered to older scouts (15 & up) on Saturday night. American Labor, Fire Safety and Scouting Heritage Merit Badges will be offered for Boy Scouts*. Webelo Scouts will have the opportunity to work on the Outdoorsmen Adventure where they will learn to pitch a tent, build a fire, cook outdoors, and tie basic knots.
Other campsite competitions include a Gateway Competition, Dutch Oven Cook-off, Top Shot Competitions and more!
For Adults and Leaders, there will be pressurized fuel training and Basic Leader Training available... as well as our traditional Coffee Klatch at 9 am Saturday (with donuts!)
New this year: In addition to the event patch, an event exclusive T-shirt** will be included in the price*** of registration! Make sure to look at the registration to choose the correct size shirt and register by April 12 to ensure shirt size.
As always, we look forward to having as many units as possible on the fields sharing fellowship... our District events offer time to connect with each other in the Spirit of Scouting.
*Merit Badge registration will open after payment section of the registration page.
**T-shirt not guaranteed for walk-ins.
***Early registration price is $15. Walk-in price is $17
