2018 Spring Rock Climbing and Rappelling Instructor Training

The Wednesday night and weekend training course is required to become a Qualified Rock Climbing/Rappelling Instructor for the Greater St. Louis Area Council sites. You will receive site specific training for the natural climbing areas at S Bar F Ranch, Camp Vandeventer, Giant City State Park (near Pine Ridge Scout Camp in Southern Illinois) and at Pere Marquette Illinois State Park (near Camp Warren Levis in Godfrey, IL) and for the towers at Beaumont, Camp Lewallen and Camp Joy.

On Wednesday night everyone will receive knot training, a detailed equipment list, training about equipment and what to bring for the weekend training and the Saturday camp at the S bar F climbing area.

The Wednesday night meetings will be at the Emerson Center, Beaumont Scout Reservation and the Belleville Service Center at 7:00 pm on May 23. The weekend training on the S bar F climbing/rappelling sites will be Saturday, June 2 and Sunday, June 3.

Late Sign-ups: The online registration system does not allow registrations starting the date of the Wed. night meeting. If you want to sign up for the training course after that date please contact the Training Director below. They will be able to give you the needed information.
