2017 Basic Instructor Training
During the 6-hour course, candidates will learn NRA policies and procedures, basic public speaking skills, training methodogy, use of a training team and training aids, organizing a course, building a budget, and finally preparing to teach. In addition, candidates will be provided the appropriate lesson plans and basic course student packets. Role-playing is a major part of an instructor course; therefore, the minimum class size should be at least four candidates, with more candidates being ideal. Candidates take turns working in teams, actually conducting portions of the course to other candidates who portray basic students. BIT can be taught by itself or integrated into an Instructor class. NOTE: Instructors must take a BIT course every 24 months prior to taking another Instructor rated course. If an instuctor cannot provide documentation showing successful completion of a BIT course in that time period, this course must be completed. This course can be integrated into an Instructor course or taught as a seperate class.
Students should bring a lunch, drinks, and snacks for the day.
