What is The Kodiak Challenge?

Kodiak is designed to be an adventure   that pushes the boundaries of every participant—one that will encourage you to take new challenges which may be outside of your comfort zone.  It is an experience—but one that has its underpinnings in the application of leadership skills learned in ILSC, ILST, NYLT, and/or NALYE.  It is, as is all of Scouting..........

Kodiak WRFA is where “Be Prepared” meets the ULTIMATE ADVENTURE!  You will Spend the week experiencing the thrills and trials of challenge games, hiking, climbing & rappelling, and more while  testing your first aid knowledge and gaining more.  Along with completing the Kodiak Challenge and earning your claws, each participant will have satisfied all the requirements of Wilderness & Remote First Aid training.  This opportunity will be like no other as the classroom will be set in the great outdoors and the skills you learn, both leadership and first aid, will immediately be put into practice.

Extra t-shirts are not required and one will be provided to each participant on the final day of the course for group pictures.  All participant must be at least 14 years old or 13 and completed 8th grade as of the start of the course.  There are a total of 48 youth slots and 12 adult slots available for the Kodiak Challenge - WRFA.  Once the course fills a waiting list will be started and admission to this event will be on a first registered/first accepted basis.  A confirmation email will be sent once the participant’s paperwork has been received and processed.
