Training Offered:
Scouts BSA Outdoor Leader, Scoutmaster Fundamentals, Cubmaster Fundamentals, *Baloo, Youth Protection, Youth on Youth Protection, and Merit Badge Counselor Training
(*Please complete the online portion of Baloo BEFORE attending the weekend.)
Things to bring with you for training weekend:
Scout uniform
Tent (no RV's, you will be sleeping in the tent, if severe weather occurs substantial shelter will be available)
Sleep gear for the weather
Comfortable solid shoes (you will be taking a hike over camp)
A chair
Handbook for your scouting position
Note taking materials (staff will not be responsible for misplaced items)
Shower items and extra clothes
Personal mess kit or eating materials
Personal first aid kit for demonstration
Water bottle
Compass (if you have one)
Medications
If you are on CPAP or other medical devices, power will be available, but bring an extension cord
Please arrive Friday evening have already eaten, program will begin no later than 7pm with registration starting at 6pm.
There will be a cracker barrel late in the evening.

Saturday
Breakfast by Patrol 7am
Campsite selection 8am
Backpacking Items 9am
Break 10:30am
Woods Tools 10:45am
Lunch by Patrol 12pm
Map and Compass/Plant ID 1pm
Knots 2:45pm
First Aid 3:45pm
Merit Badge Counseling 5:30pm
Dinner by Patrol 6pm
Scouts own & Campfire 7:15pm
Sunday
Breakfast by Patrol 7am
Scoutmaster Fundamentals / OWL 8:10am
Closing cracker barrel and awards 12pm
Some basic snakcs will be provided throughout the day, but if you wish for a specific snack please bring it with you.
If you wish to bring a dessert or snacks for the group, you are more than welcome to do so, but please let the training team know wht you are bringing.
We plan to continue training materials well into Sunday. If we finish eraly, we may dismiss you early.
Recently Heart of America Council has not been honoring training offered in Pony Express Council as in person classes. If you are registered in HOAC, please contact your district or council training chair to see when local training is to be offered.
