Pony Express All District 
Klondike Derby
January 17-19, 2025

Join us for the Pony Express All District Klondike!
Cost: $7 per person
 
This event will be held at Camp Farwesta at 6091 US 36, Stewartsville, MO 64490,  January 17-19, 2025.
There will be klondike games, team building, movie night w/cracker barrel hosted by our Order of The Arrow, O Ni Flo Lodge.
 
"Be Prepared" with Basic Scout Skills.
 
Friday, January 17
Troop Check-in is 6pm
Units may come in and camp
  • bring your klondike sleds
  • troops are responsible for their own meals.
  • prepare with basic Scout skills - Lashings, knots, first aid, etc
 
Saturday Activities, January 18
Event Kickoff at 9am
8:00am Check in/Opening
9:00am Morning Activities
11:30am Start lunch by Troop
1:00pm Activites Resume
3:30pm "The Yearly Race"!
5:00pm Troops prepare food for potluck dinner. Meetin at the Auditorium
7:00pm Awards ceremony. Oni Flo Lodge's evening program/Cracker Barrel
 **Troops should plan for Saturday breakfast and lunch as a unit.
     Saturday dinner will be potluck, bring your own eating utensils and enough food to feed the number of people you bring.
     If you would like to compete in a Dutch oven cobbler competition, bring your entry to the evening Cracker Barrel. 
     Please make an effort to keep open fires off the ground.
 
Saturday Activities start at 9am.

1. Fire Starting: Patrol is given 3 matches. Object is to start a fire, and feed it to burn a string 24’ above ground level. Graded on speed, team work, and Patrol Spirit.

2. First Aid: Patrol has encountered an emergency situation. Their task is to correctly diagnose the situation, and move the injured victim to safety. Graded on Teamwork, speed, First aid knowledge and Patrol spirit.

3. Blind Sled Maneuvering: Patrol selects one member to direct the others who are blindfolded. Leader verbally directs the team to pull the sled through a simple obstacle course. Graded on Speed, teamwork, and Patrol spirit.

4. Tomahawk Throw: Patrol members each get three throws of a tomahawk at a target. Tomahawks stuck in target are added up and an average is counted towards score.

5. Bridge Lashing: Patrol is to lash together a simple bridge to cross a mighty river. Graded on speed, knowledge of lashings, teamwork, and Patrol Spirit.

6. Snow Wall Volleyball: Patrols square off in a volleyball game. But the net is a solid. Graded on points cored, teamwork and Patrol Spirit.

7. Snow shoe relay. Patrol competes against a clock to get down a snowy trail on make shift snow shoes. Scored on total of average times, Patrol spirit and team work.

There will be a couple of events on-going during the events: a scavenger hunt, and a challenge to maintain an egg in an unbroken state during the days travels.
