Prepare yourself and your crew for emergencies in the backcountry! This hybrid Wilderness First Aid course combines online learning with an in-person, hands-on skills and scenario session. It’s designed for Scouts, leaders, and outdoor enthusiasts who want the knowledge and confidence to respond effectively when medical help is delayed.

Course Details

Hybrid Format:

Online component: Self-paced learning before the in-person session. Pease note, this can take up to 8 hours to complete, depending on your pace and previous knowledge.  Online modules and exam must be completed prior to the in-person session.

In-person session: Saturday, November 8, 2025, at the Ozark Trails Council Service Center.

Registration Information:

Registration closes November 1, 2025 (one week prior) to allow time to complete the online training.

Once you register, you will be provided with an access code via the email used for your black pug account. 

To complete the online portion, you will need to create an account with JB Learning (https://www.jblearning.com/), use the access code when creating your account, and then complete the online modules and exam

Age Requirement: Participants must be 14 years or older.

Capacity: Course limited to 16 participants — register early to guarantee your spot!

Meals: Lunch is provided during the in-person session.

Optional Add-On: CPR & AED Certification

After completing the WFA course, participants may stay for a two-hour CPR & AED course. This add-on certification complements WFA training and further equips you for emergencies.

Cost

Wilderness First Aid Only: $70

Wilderness First Aid + CPR/AED: $80
