Proceeds from the Golf Classic will help support the Choctaw Area Council, Scouting America's mission of Scouting in East Mississippi and West Alabama. Our mission is to prepare young people to make ethical choices over their lifetimes by instilling in them the values of the Scout Oath and Law. More than ever, it is important to teach our youth to serve God and others and keep themselves physically strong, mentally awake, and morally straight. 

Joseph L. "Joe" Brown

Joe Brown was a dedicated individual to Scouting and made it a priority that it would always be here in East Mississippi and West Alabama for the youth. He knew that character education through fun in the outdoors would build the leadership of our communities for years to come. Joe was a long-time Scout leader, Executive Board Member, and past Council President. He was a recipient of the Silver Beaver Award, the highest honor a council can give a volunteer for service above self Joe Brown also will always be memorialized with a gift he made, as one of his last wishes, to the Heritage Society Endowment fund for the Choctaw Area Council. Now, we are honored to reward this service beyond self by naming one of East Mississippi's largest and most established Golf Tournaments after Joe Brown.
