Hiawatha - Sugarloaf Fall Camporee

Join Scouts and leaders from across the area for an unforgettable weekend of history, service, fellowship, and hand-on adventure at the 2026 Hiawatha Sugarloaf Fall Camporee!

Date: Sept 18-20, 2026 (Fri-Sun)

Location:Gamehaven Scout Camp (5015 Simpson Rd SE, Rochester, MN)

Who May Attend?: Scouts BSA members and registered Adult Leaders

Event Overview: The 2026 Fall Camporee will celebrate America's 250th Anniversary through activities connecting Scouts with our nation's history, traditions, and spirit of service.   Troops will camp together throughout the weekend while participating in demonstrations, service opportunities, historical activities, and fellowship with Scouts from across the council.

• Colonial Cooking
• Massice Flag Retirement Ceremony
• Community Service Projects
• Commemorative Time Capsule
• Opportunities to complete requirements toward the Liberty in Action Scouting Award.
• Colonial Games
• State Themed Campsite Contest

A complete event schedule and additional activity information will be provided to registered units as details are finalized. 

Registration Fees-   Scouts BSA Youth - FREE    Adult Registration: $10 per adults

Registration Deadline: Closes on Friday, Sept. 11th. One week before the event.   Units should register all participating Scouts and adults before the deadline so event staff can prepare campsites, program material, and activity areas. Late registration will not be accepted. 

Refund Policy: 30 Days prior is full refund. Anything between 2 weeks and 30 days is 50% refund. Within 2 weeks of the event refund is at the discretion of the event coordinator or staff advisor. Usually only granted in cases of emergency. Unless otherwise stated.

Checkin & Departure:  Checkin begins at 5pm on Sept. 18th     Departure -Sunday, Sept 20th at 11am  The unit leader of designated adult should check in the entire unit upon arrival. Individual families and participants should not check in separately unless instructed by event staff. Additional arrivals, parking, campsite assignments, and check-out instructions will be provided before the event. 

Participant Requirements: All youth participants must attend as part of a registered Scouts BSA troop and remain under the supervision of their unit leadership. 

Units Must Provide:

• Two-deep registered adult leadership
• Appropriate camping equipment
• Meals and cooking equipment
• Current annual Health and Medical record forms
• Any unit or person equipment listed in the final event guide
• Transportation to and from Gamehaven Socut Camp and service project areas.

All participants must follow current Scouting America policies, Youth protection requirements, the Guide to Safe Scouting, and all Gamehaven Scout Camp Rules. 

Health & Safety: 

• Units are responsible for maintaining required health forms for every participant throughout the event. 
• Participants should arrive prepared for changing weather conditions and outdorr activities. Closed-toe footwear and weather appropriate clothing are required for participation in program areas. 
• Additional safety requirements may apply to specific demonstrations and activities. 

Unit Preparation - Before arriving, unit leaders should

• Register all participating Scouts and adults
• Review the final event schedule
• Assign appropriate adult leadership
• Prepare meals and camping equipment
• Bring required medical forms
• Review camp rules and safety expectations with particpants. 
• Print out the roster for those attending with your unit and turn into camporee committee. Also, committee know who the SPLs will be in your unit.

Additional Information - The detailed schedule, campsite assignments, equipment recommendation, activity requirements, and other event updates will be emailed to registered unit contacts and posted through Black Pug as they become available.

Service projects: Scouts will have the opportunity to complete community service at Bear Creek and/or Gamehaven Park.
