Kayak Merit Badge Event

Event Details

Kayaking like you've never seen and won't soon forget!  Join us September 9th for a day on the water with the Qajaq USA Organization. Learn about Greenland style kayaking, meet world class kayakers and earn your kayaking merit badge with counselors, Chuck Rose and Bill Ness.

All this takes place at Parker Scout Camp, on North Long Lake, just west of Merrifield, MN. (address for your GPS: 21930 Paradise Dr., Nisswa, MN)

Your day begins with check in at 9 am and ends with farewell at 4 pm.   Kayaks, life jackets, and paddles will be available for use as supply permits.  You may bring your own sea kayak or use one of ours.

Be prepared with your swim check roster or current buddy tag from Scout camp  and  health form, you must have both to participate.

Please acquire and read through the Kayak Merit Badge pamphlet prior to the event. Bring it with you, along with a notebook, writing tool, and a blue card signed by your Scoutmaster.

Boys who are 13-17 may participate.  Leadership is required, adults may attend free.  The fee for Scouts is $20 for the day and includes instruction, equipment, and facility.  Please bring your own bag lunch.

Everyone, youth and adults, attending must have a health form, parts A and B.

There is a limit of 15 Scouts for this event, so register early! This is a rain or shine event. There will be no refunds unless there is all day lightning and severe weather.
