Weekends include June 9-11, 16-18 and 23-25, July 7-9, 14-16, and 21-23.

All themes are limited each session to 32 boys.

NEW THIS YEAR!

Adventures in Science for boys who are going into

4th and 5th grade.

This group will sleep in tents and hold theme sessions in the castle's lower level science lab. Join Beth Gauerke for experiments and fun as we discover the answers to some of the world's mysteries. Explore the solar system, and the history of the earth, while doing hands on experiments and challenges that bring science into the here and now.  It promises to be an "eggs"ellent adventure in time and space

This group will complete the requirements for the Adventures in Science Loop, and a good start on Earth Rocks.

Adventure in the Woods Finding your Way for “explorers” who are going into 2nd Grade

Wolves will earn this Elective Adventure Loop by completing these requirements with their leaders:

We’ll use computer maps to find your hometown; show us where you live! Draw a map of your neighborhood and tells us about your town.Where is your school, where do your friends live?

What kinds of snacks do you like to eat*, where does it come from? Show us on the globe or map.

Discuss different kinds of maps and how they help us find our way! Learn how to use the tools on a map and plan a trip.

We’ll go on a scavenger hunt using a compass, who knows what treasures we may find! *Maybe a snack!

Take a hike! Using a map and compass, Holly Carlson will take you on an adventure to explore the woods at Parker Scout Camp. What kinds of nature will we see along the way?

Fish Camp!  A Bear Goes Fishing for boys

who are going into 3rd Grade

Bears will earn this Elective Adventure Loop by completing the requirements with their leaders:

Identify different types of local fish and their habits and habitats, and which ones are good to eat!

Discuss and demonstrate the importance of Fishing Regulations through games and projects, because rules aren’t always fun, but they are important.

Learn about different fishing equipment and make a simple fishing pole.

Practice casting at a target, how far can you cast a line? Challenge your friends to outcast you!

Let’s go fishing! On the pontoon and off the dock, using the things you have learned about fish and fishing gear. All fishing will be catch and release, but stories and pictures will be shared at the campfire on Saturday night!

Lost in the Woods? What do you do?

How can you help others find and rescue you?

Castaway for boys entering grades 4 and 5

In this Webelos Elective Adventure, you will fulfill most of the requirements:

Start fires without matches, and create a shelter that could protect you overnight if you were lost.

Decide which items you will need to carry with you on an adventure which are important for survival.

Invent a game that everyone can play at camp, and teach it to others.

Create a plan for safety in the woods, practice purifying water, and learn emergency signals and practice rescue techniques!

Practice leading the group in problem solving activities, and better understand the Scout Oath and Law.

Other Castaway activities may include map and compass, GPS, preparing a skit for the Saturday campfire to show what you have learned!

You will also be able to enjoy archery and BB guns, and rockets.  Meals are provided at the dining hall.

Medieval Times - A castle based theme experience for boys going into grades 1-5

Have you ever slept in a castle? Built a catapult or saved a damsel in distress?  Have you ever dreamed of being a knight of the round table?

Okay, there may not be a distressed damsel, but there is a little bit of something for everyone in Medieval Times!  This program is not based on an adventure, but plenty of adventure awaits!  You will have jousting matches and feats of skill and teamwork!

This adventure is for boys of all ages!
